Executive Leadership

Curt Morgan is CEO of AlphaGen. Mr. Morgan was previously CEO of Vistra, an integrated retail electricity and power generation company. During his tenure, he helped establish Vistra as a power and energy transition leader while transforming it from a single-state provider into one of the largest power producers and retailers in the country. During his 40-year career, Mr. Morgan has held leadership responsibilities in nearly every major U.S. power market. Mr. Morgan also served as the President and CEO of EquiPower Resources Corp. and FirstLight Power Resources, Inc., and has held leadership positions at NRG Energy, Mirant Corporation, Reliant Energy and BP Amoco.

Mary Anne Brelinsky is responsible for leading all commercial-facing aspects of the AlphaGen platform. Prior to AlphaGen, Ms. Brelinsky served as President of EDF Energy North America, which she grew to become the third largest energy retail business in North America. While at EDF, she was responsible for the company’s trading, hedging and optimization, generation services, and retail businesses. Before that, she was a Senior Manager at Reliant Energy overseeing the structuring and pricing desk and developing power products for large commercial and industrial clients.

Stacey Peterson was formerly CEO of Broad Reach Power, a utility-scale battery storage developer and operator based in Houston. She brings over 20 years of experience in power and utilities, public and private, largely focused on treasury, capital markets, financial reporting, and strategic analysis. Stacey has spent a significant amount of her career in the IPP space, including 11 years at Calpine where she was Vice President & Treasurer leading over $20 billion of financing deals.  She has also held senior executive finance positions at CenterPoint Energy and Talen Energy.

Nick Rahn previously served as Senior Vice President of Asset Management at Competitive Power Ventures, where he managed generating assets across the U.S. as well as for third-party owners. Mr. Rahn was formerly CEO of Optim Energy, a Cascade Investment-owned wholesale generator in ERCOT. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Resource Development, Environmental and Construction at PacifiCorp, a division of Berkshire Hathaway Energy, where he was responsible for developing the company’s generation resource portfolio and managing the construction of new generation projects.

Michael Bruneau is EVP of Corporate Development & Strategy and is responsible for overseeing strategic initiatives for AlphaGen, including the formation and execution of corporate strategy, market analytics, project development, energy transition activities, and M&A. Mr. Bruneau most recently served as CFO of AlphaGen affiliates Eastern Generation and Generation Bridge.

Jason Buchman manages complex legal, commercial, regulatory and compliance matters, and serves as AlphaGen’s corporate secretary. For over 25 years, Mr. Buchman has held senior and executive roles at public and private companies specializing in wholesale power generation, exploration and production, oilfield and analytical services, and infrastructure development. Prior to joining AlphaGen, he served as Chief Legal Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary of Stratum Reservoir, a global leader in geochemical and geophysical laboratory services.
